She has one of the most enviable figures around, and Olivia Munn was appropriately selected to grace the cover of the October 2011 issue of Shape magazine.
The “I Don’t Know How She Does It” darling is highlighted in a workout-intense spread while also chatting about topics including her youthful travels, being a girl’s girl and her grandmother’s battle with breast cancer.
Highlights from Miss Munn’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to visit Shape!
On growing up around the world:
“My stepfather was in the Air Force. I was constantly the new girl, which was really hard because people weren’t welcoming me. Walking into a cafeteria was literally like going onto a battlefield. ‘Oh crap, oh crap, where am I going to sit?’ For most of junior year in high school, I had lunch with a 70-year-old librarian!”
On her grandmother being diagnosed with breast cancer:
“I was only 12 years old when my grandmother found out she had breast cancer. I remember thinking it was a death sentence. But she had a mastectomy and survived – and lived many wonderful years longer. She taught me that we fight to live and feel and love, and that you can’t let one experience define your existence.”
On being female friendly:
“It may surprise you to know that many of my close friends are women. I don’t trust a girl who says she has a hard time being friends with other women. She’s the person who will steal your boyfriend.”

What’s the point of dropping a few Benjamins on a tablet if you can’t watch video on-the-go? Although much fuss has been made of Cupertino’s reluctance to add Flash to its line of iOS devices, the kings of content (read: networks) are still scheming up ways to port the prime time eye candy to your portable slates. Shoring up that streaming divide are a trio of new apps from NBC, TNT and TBS that deliver full episodes of the networks’ fodder to your iPad, albeit with some authentication required. Unlike other premium mobile video services, these three apps come free of charge. So, go ahead and hit up the source below to get your SVU to go.

Jennifer Aniston’s mother, Nancy Dow, has suffered a serious stroke.
The actress, 42, visited her ailing mother, 75, at an L.A.-area hospital on Friday. At her side for the ordeal was live-in boyfriend, Justin Theroux.
“Justin has been very supportive and there with her all the way,” a source tells Us, adding that clearly, “It’s a very hard time for her right now.”

Aniston’s rep said only that “this is a private family matter.”
Fans of the star may recall that she and Dow were estranged for a decade after Dow spoke out about their relationship in a 1996 interview and wrote about Aniston in a book, From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir.
They have since reconciled. Here’s wishing both the best …

Last week a video of Madonna proclaiming her loathsome disdain for hydrangeas after a fan presented her with the flowers made it’s way around the Internets and illicited responses that spanned the gap from those who found the video humorous to those who found the video to be bitchy. Today we get to check out [...]

Curious what the minimum specifications for Windows 8 will be? As are we. Microsoft’s remaining mum on specifics, but the outfit’s Steven Sinofsky — President of Windows and Windows Live — just confessed during the opening Build 2011 keynote that an antediluvian Lenovo S10 was potent enough to run Windows 8. And in fact, it’ll do so with more poise than with Windows 7. A brief demonstration explained that Win8 demanded fewer system resources (barely, but still) than Win7 on the same hardware, proving that an early-gen Atom CPU and 1GB of RAM is “enough” to run the outfit’s upcoming operating system. We highly doubt it’s enjoyable, but at least you (probably) won’t be forced into an upgrade if you don’t want to be. Have a gander at the actual numbers just after the break!

Nothing about this Electrolux concept screams practicality. It’s basically an induction powered hotplate attached to a laptop, with a removable cutting board sandwiched between the screen and burner. Designer Dragan Trenchevski envisions this portable cook top as a boon to travelers and campers who can pull up recipes while whipping up meals miles from home, thanks to its 3G connection and battery pack. Of course, grease splatters, CPUs overheat, and an induction cook top will chew threw a battery in no time. But, like we said, the Mobile Kitchen Concept is all about flash — not feasibility. We’ve got one more pic after the break, but you’ll find tons more at the source.

Sure, that TwitPic you posted was dope, but could it ever be as snazzy as a photo taken from space? Although doubtful, now at least there’s the NASA Photography Training Program handbook to help you achieve such levels of awesomeness. The guide provides tips on operating the official camera of the space agency, the Hasselblad 500 EL/M, responsible for some of the most extraterrestrial shots this side of Pluto. Pointers on how to best operate the electric film lunar surface data camera include what type of lens to use and how to best use available light. Study up at the source — after all, privatized space travel is just around the bend.

You heard right — The Big N’s own Satoru Iwata just announced that a “Misty Pink” Nintendo 3DS console would be shipping (at least in Japan) on October 20th. Funnily enough, that was just after showing a chart proving that right around half of all DS gamers are ladies. (But Iwata — what if the dudes dig pink, too?) At any rate, no specific price was mentioned, giving us some level of certainty that no premium will be attached.
